Describe the Formation of a Female Gamete (n) from a Megaspore

By the following ways a female gamete is formed through the formation of a female spore and subsequently a female gamete inside the ovule is present in the ovary of a flowering plant.

Formation of female spore:

(i) Nucellus is the main part of an ovule

(ii) A female spore mother cell (2n) or megaspore mother cell is formed inside the nucleus which produces four female spores (n) through meiosis.

(iii) Usually one out of four spores grows up and the rests are degenerated

(iv) The female spore is haploid (n) and uninucleated.
