Environmental Pollution

The environment refers to the air, water, and land in which people, animals, and plants live. Environmental pollution means the lack of balance among the elements of the environment. Human beings, animals, plants, air, water, and soil are the main elements of the environment. These elements should be pollution-free for our healthy living. But when they are polluted and their essential balance is disrupted, it is called environmental pollution. Environmental pollution is a serious problem.

Nowadays, almost everywhere, our environment is getting polluted. In many places in our country, the environment has become extremely polluted. Our environment is polluted mainly for four factors. The surroundings we live in is called the environment. The main elements of the environment are air, water, soil, plants, human, etc. Water pollution is one of them. Man pollutes water in many ways. They use chemical fertilizers inland. Using chemical fertilizers and pesticides, discharging industrial wastage we pollute the environment. Chemical fertilizers pollute water. ‘Industrial waste, human waste, natural calamities, unsafe drains and latrines, washing powder, water vehicles pollute water.

Secondly, is air pollution. Buses, trucks, brick-kilns, mills, and factories produce smoke. This smoke pollutes the air. Industries and factories emit a huge amount of smoke, gases, and fume. Motor vehicles also emit large amounts of smoke and gases. All of these cause air pollution.

Thirdly, is noise pollution. Horns, microphones, vehicles, industries, primary school teaching cause sound pollution. Due to the indiscriminate use of vehicle horns, loudspeakers, mikes, etc sound is polluted.

Finally, comes the odor pollution. The rotten things around us cause odor pollution. Environmental pollution causes many problems. Water is polluted from the dumping of industrial wastes and by chemical fertilizers and insecticides. Water pollution causes water-borne diseases like cholera and diarrhea. These two diseases often lead children to death. Moreover, the world is producing millions of garbage and there is no suitable place to discharge it. As a result, there creates odor pollution and air pollution as well. Air pollution causes pneumonia, bronchitis, and other respiratory diseases. These three diseases are very fatal, especially for children. The problem of sound pollution is very great. It also damages hearing.

Soil is polluted by harmful chemical fertilizers, pesticides, and insecticides. Trees play an important role in the environment. Trees absorb carbon dioxide and produce oxygen. Thus they save the environment. But trees are being cut down for different commercial purposes. Illiteracy, mass unawareness, population explosion, acute poverty, etc. are the prime reasons for environmental pollution. Environmental pollution can be kept under control by creating public awareness, removing illiteracy, planting more trees, and ensuring proper wastage management.

The environment pollution must be controlled as soon as possible. We ourselves are responsible for this situation. We have to raise public awareness. This needs to be stopped for the sake of keeping our environment healthy. Our farmers should use natural fertilizers. Various types of wastes should. be disposed of in a suitable location. People should be encouraged to build sanitary latrines and safe drains. Careful town planning is needed to lessen sound pollution. Environmental pollution is a great threat to our existence. It changes the world’s climate and brings about different kinds of natural disasters. Law should be properly implemented to lessen air pollution. So, we all should be aware of this harmful pollution and take effective measures to check it for a Comfortable living. To make life healthy and comfortable, we should keep the environment clean and pollution-free.
