Roles and Importance of Internal Communication
The communication that occurs among the people at different levels within the same organization structure is known as internal communication. Overall performance of organizational activities mostly depends on effective internal communication. Importance or role of internal communication is discussed below:
Formulation of plans: Formulation of plans, policies and strategies requires information from various sources. Managers can gather their required information by communicating with their superiors, subordinates and peers.
Execution of plans and policies: Proper execution of plans and policies requires directions and guidelines from the superiors. In this regard, downward communication is only the way to give necessary directions and guidelines to the subordinate.
Motivating the employees: Internal communication also helps to motivate the employee of the organization. Ensuring proper control: Controlling is a basic function of management. It refers to ensuring that performance conforms to plans. Without internal communication, it is not possible to exercise proper degree of control.
