How Organic Reactions Happens?

The reactions of organic compounds can he classified into four main groups.

They are: Substitution, Addition, Elimination and Rearrangement.

Organic reactions are molecular type of reactions. Factors governing organic reactions are essentially the same as that of any chemical reaction.

Organic Reactions

Organic reactions depend on following factors:

(1) Functional group.

(ii) Presence of covalent bond (σ/π)

(iii) Nature of attacking reagent.

(iv) Environment (Acidic, basic or neutral) of reaction.
