After two US army Black Hawk helicopters crashed during a normal training flight over the state, Kentucky’s governor declared that fatalities were to be anticipated.

The US army’s Fort Campbell said in a statement to Reuters that the condition of the crew members was not immediately known, but it did not say how many people were aboard.

The governor, Andy Beshear, posted on Twitter, “We’ve got some tough news out of Fort Campbell, with early reports of a helicopter crash, and fatalities are expected,” adding that local law enforcement and emergency services were reacting to the situation.

According to Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, deaths were anticipated, and the state’s disaster management agency was reacting.

“We’ve got some tough news out of Fort Campbell with early reports of a helicopter crash and fatalities are expected,” he said on Twitter.

Two HH-60 Black Hawk helicopters flown by the 101st Airborne Division fell at around 10 p.m. on Wednesday in Trigg county, according to the public relations office at Fort Campbell.

The statement added that the reason for the accident was being looked into and stated that “the command is currently focused on caring for the service members and their families.”

According to the army, the HH-60 is a Black Hawk chopper variant created to assist different military activities, such as aviation assaults and medical evacuations.
