Characteristics of Kingdom Plantae

Characteristics of kingdom plantae:

(i) They are autophytic. Chlorophyll-a and chlorophyll-b are their main photosynthetic pigments.

(ii) They have well developed vascular tissues.

(iii) Embryo is formed during reproduction and embryo starts the diploid phase.

(iv) They are usually terrestrial, but a few others are aquatic.

(v) Their sexual reproduction is anisogamous.

(vi) They are archegonial and flowering plants.
