After weeks of leaks, the Poco X5 Pro 5G is now officially available in India and other territories. It is the replacement for the well-liked POCO X4 Pro 5G, which made its debut in 2017. The Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G, Realme 10 Pro Plus 5G, Redmi K50i 5G, Motorola Edge 30, and Samsung Galaxy A23 5G, to mention a few, are competitors of the Rs 22,999-priced X5 Pro. Our Poco X5 Pro 5G will ship out around the time of India’s maiden sale, which will be this coming week. After using the device for a few days, this is what I think of it.

Design and specifications for the Poco X5 Pro 5G: The Poco X5 Pro 5G keeps the same design aesthetic as its predecessor. It sports an AMOLED display with a punch hole in the middle on the front. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 5 and is water resistant to IP53 standards. The phone’s polycarbonate back has a matte appearance and is constructed of this material. The three cameras, an LED flash, and the Poco logo are all contained in a glossy rectangle-shaped block on the rear of the device. Although the shiny part is readily fingerprinted, this is not a big problem. In comparison to the previous model, the camera hump on the back has been lessened.

I received the Astral Black version of the Poco X5 Pro for review. The device’s 181-gram weight and 7.9 mm thickness will please users who seek lightweight technology. The previous model was identical in thickness but 205 grams heavier. An IR blaster, dual speakers, a USB-C connector, a SIM card slot, a side-facing fingerprint scanner, and a 3.5mm audio jack are all housed in the X5 Pro’s flat borders. The X5 Pro lacks the microSD card slot that the predecessor had.

The Poco X5 Pro 5G’s 6.67-inch AMOLED display features Full HD+ resolution, a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 10-bit colors, with 1920Hz PWM dimming. The X5 Pro is an excellent companion for watching streaming video on OTT platforms because it has dual speakers calibrated for Dolby Atmos and supports Dolby Vision and HDR10.

Under the hood of the Poco X5 Pro 5G are the Snapdragon 778G mobile platform, LPDDR4x RAM, and a 5,000mAh battery. Fans may have anticipated that the gadget will ship with Android 13, however, it really ships with Android 12. The fact that it is the first MIUI 14 phone to be released outside of China is advantageous for the OS experience. The Indian version differs from the international version in that it comes with an MIUI dialer rather than a Google dialer. I’m not sure if it applies to the worldwide edition as well. Owners of the X5 Pro will receive four years of security updates in addition to two years of Android OS upgrades.

A 5,000mAh battery with 67W fast charging is included in the Poco X5 Pro. There is a 12-layer graphite cooling heat dissipation unit for heat dissipation. Up to 5 GB of virtual RAM, which is extracted from the UFS 2.2 storage, is available on the device.

A 16-megapixel camera is available on the front of the Poco X5 Pro. Its back camera system includes a Samsung HM2 primary camera with 108 megapixels that can shoot 4K video at 30 frames per second. By combining nine sensor pixels into a single 2.1-mm pixel, it often produces 12-megapixel photos. A 2-megapixel macro camera and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera are added to the primary camera.

For those searching for a midrange phone for gaming or content consumption, the performance-driven phone has all the necessary components. In conclusion, the X5 Pro appears appealing given everything it does at a fair price.

Price of Poco X5 Pro 5G: Both 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage are available for the Poco X5 Pro 5G. It’s available in POCO Yellow and Horizon Blue in addition to Astral Black.

It launches on February 7 in the international market. On the international market, the prices of the two variations are $299 and $349, respectively. Both modes have early bird rates of $249 and $299, respectively.

The two Poco X5 Pro variants can be purchased in India for Rs 22,999 and Rs 24,999, respectively. On February 13, at 12 p.m., Flipkart will launch its inaugural sale.
