Use of Permanent Magnet

A magnet produced by cast iron, nickel, and the alloy of iron is called permanent magnet. The magnets which are used in the laboratories are artificial magnets. Their characteristic is that they are of regular shape. In industries and scientific works, artificial magnets are used. Their magnetism is very strong. A permanent magnet is one of such magnets.

Magnetism of a permanent magnet does not disappear easily. So, it is used for different important purposes. For every strong magnet alimino, for the ribbon of tape recorder vicalloy, for the magnet of the loudspeaker diaconal are used.

The ceramic magnet is the extensively known permanent magnet. This magnet is extensively used for the preparation of memory ribbon of the computer, for the ribbon of the tape recorder and for the antenna of radio. Ceramic magnets are great for performing attraction and repulsion experiments.

Many electric motors, generators, and measuring instruments cannot work without permanent magnets. Alnico magnets are used in radar and telephones. They even play a significant function in amplifiers and loudspeakers.

As the natural magnet obtained from mines has directional property so this magnet is used for the determination of direction. Some metallic alloys, for example, permalloy (an alloy of iron and nickel) have high permeability, hence are used in the manufacture of electromagnets.
