Define and Describe on Allelomorph or Allelic Gene

A Pair of genes that are responsible for a particular characteristics lying in the particular locus of a chromosome are mutually called allele or allelomorph or allelic genes.

Explanations: If genotype of a homozygous tall pea plant is “TT” of which “T” genes and “T” genes are combined responsible for the expression of the tall characteristics. Here one gene (T) is mutually allelic upon the others.

Likewise, if the genotype of a heterozygous tall pea plant is “Tt” of which “T” and “t” genes are responsible for the expression of tall and dwarf characters are mutually allelic. the difference between allelomorph and allele is that allelomorph is (genetics) one of a number of alternative forms of the same gene occupying a given position on a chromosome.
