Canon Takes another Stab at the Mirrorless Market, With R7 and R10

Since the middle of the 1970s, camera manufacturer Canon has maintained a strong SLR camera range and has successfully transitioned from film-based SLR cameras to digital SLR cameras. Although the business has had less success with mirrorless cameras, sales have lately increased. According to the corporation, it dominated the mirrorless camera market in Q1 of this year. The business recently introduced two new cameras, both of which include APS-C image sensors, in an effort to strengthen its market position. The R10 has a big APS-C sized image sensor with 24 million pixels, whereas the R7 has a 32 million pixel imaging sensor.

Both cameras have optical image stabilization built into their small bodies and can shoot at an astonishing 15 frames per second while using mechanical shutters. Both cameras can capture 4K footage at 30p and 24p, while the R7 can capture it at a maximum frame rate of 60fps. The R7 can capture still images at a rate of 30 frames per second with only an electronic shutter, which is quite astounding. It makes it feasible to use a variety of different procedures to record each crucial second.

While still being simple to use, the EOS R7 and EOS R10 provide improved video features and accessories, such as the new multifunction shoe with the EOS R7. These cameras have a solid mirrorless system at their heart, and because of the 1.6x crop factor that comes with APS-C sensor cameras, they provide customers a strong telephoto reach in both still photographs and video. Canon is also introducing a few new RF-S lenses in addition to the camera body. These will be the default zoom lenses for the EOS R7 and EOS R10 cameras. Their names are the RF-S18-45mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM and RF-S18-150mm F3.5-6.3 IS STM, respectively.

The RF-S 18-45mm has a focal length of 18 to 45 mm, but users will get a field of vision that is comparable to a full-frame camera’s 29 to 72 mm lens coverage. The RF-S18-150mm lens, which covers 29-240 mm on a full frame, is a longer-range standard zoom. These lenses may be used with any R-series camera, even though they are best for the new EOS R10 and EOS R7 APS-C sized sensor bodies. The price of the Canon EOS R10 camera body is $979, whereas the price of the Canon EOS R7 camera body is $1,499. The 18-150 mm lens costs $499, while the 18-45 mm lens costs $299. By the end of 2022, all items will be accessible.
