The short form for Magnetic Ink Character Recognition is MICR, which is a recognition technology based on characters printed with magnetic ink or toner and processed by being magnetized and sensed magnetically. MICR characters are printed information on documents so that the code line information can be captured by magnetic recognition. This technology is used in cheques to make it safer & secured.
