Sexual reproduction of a Flowering Plant:
(i) Flowering plants are the representatives of diploid sporophytic generations.
(ii) Gemetophytic and sporophytic generations repeat alternately through sexual reproduction
(iii) Haploid spores (n) formed from diploid plants through division germinate to produce the garnetophytic generation (n).
(iv) Male and female gametes (n) unite together to from diploid (2n) embryos. The embryo remains dormant within the seed.
(v) During the germination of seeds. embryo grows up to form a new diploid sporophytic plant.
