Wave is a form of disturbance which travels through a medium or vacuum and is produced due to periodic motion or vibration of particles about their mean positions. During wave motion, the molecules do not move with the wave, but the molecules transfer the energy from one molecule to another, obeying their inertia and elastic properties.
