Organizational feasibility focuses on how well a proposed information system supposes the objective of the organization and its strategic plan for an information system. This may include information about the founders, their professional background and the skills they possess necessary to get the company off the ground and keep it operational. It also determines whether the new system will have enough support from participants to be successfully implemented and whether participants can operate the system. For example, projects that do not directly contribute to meeting and organization strategic objective are typically not funded. It refers to how well a proposed information system supports the objectives of an organization’s strategic plan for information systems.
Organizational Feasibility Analysis includes the assessment of:
- management prowess: what is the ability of the initial management team?
- resource sufficiency: what nonfinancial resources such as human resources (management, employees), facilities/location, equipment, intellectual property protection, etc. are required?
