Teachers Day is a day devoted to the teachers. A Teacher is that person who acts as a guide and inspiration to people both young and old. After our parents, the most significant responsibility played is by teachers in the procedure of our education about life around us, its impact and how we must use this knowledge to construct an enhanced world for the next generation. He or she is charged with the responsibility of creating awareness as well as opening the mind of people by instilling values, morals, and ethics.

Teachers Day is observed by at least a hundred countries over the globe; though, on different dates. Teachers help in building an intelligent population that governs on facts, logic, and reasons, and is not swayed merely by emotions. The difference in dates is because every country celebrates Teachers Day, either on the birthday of a local educator or on the date when a commendable achievement was made, especially in the field of education. Celebrating Teachers’ Day also helps children to understand the importance of education and the crucial role that an educator plays in cultivating effective learning.

Teachers’ work and effort are recognized during the teacher’s day. School and college students celebrate the day like a festival, especially in the lower standards. This day is dedicated to teachers to show them how important they are, to express the love that learners have for them and to acknowledge teachers for their contribution. Usually, the routine classes are suspended and teachers, as well as students, enjoy the occasion. A cultural programmed especially prepared for the teachers in held. In this programmed, skits, songs dances, mimicry and parodies are presented by the students. They shape our minds, and their contribution to the development of society is celebrated annually in the form of Teachers’ day across the world. The teachers are parodied in alight vein without giving any of them an occasion for being displeased.

Teachers come to school, dressed in new clothes or sometimes traditional attire. Unlike any other usual day, students’ handover gifts/flowers to their favorite teachers as a token of their love and respect. Students also do a number of activities to please their teachers and to gain their love and affection. They perform on stage, give speeches, and felicitate their teachers by garlanding them or by simply gifting cards.

Teachers act as our friend, philosopher and guide through our growing years in school and in later years of young adulthood. It is a very significant occasion both for the students as well as the teachers. Latter put tremendous efforts throughout the year to make the students improve not only academically but also socially. This way, the learners are able to appreciate, acknowledge and respect the mentors, guides and teachers in their life that advice, counsel and serve as effective tools of social metamorphosis. A teacher also contributes to the economic and social growth of a nation by educating the youth and making them productive.
