What is Bio-gas?

Bio-gas: Bio-gas is a colorless gas which can be made by the petrifaction of cow dung and other decaying substances. About 60-70% of bio-gas is methane. Thus this gas is used as fuel. Usually, this gas is prepared through the petrifaction of cow dung and the other decaying dirt’s by the action of anaerobic bacteria.

Elements of bio-gas:

  1. Methane
  2. Carbon-dioxide
  3. A few amount of nitrogen and hydrogen

Usage:

  • Used in cooking.
  • Used in illuminating electric lamps and in operating electric fans, radio-television generate electricity with the help of power generators.
