A Journey by Train

First of all, a journey refers to traveling from one place to another. A journey is always an exciting experience for all. When it comes to journeys, train journeys take the top spot. It is all the more attractive to a student because it gives relief from the monotony of books and classrooms. A train journey certainly is a wonderfully joyous occasion. I decided that during the summer vacation I would go on a journey by train.

I made up my mind that I would spend my summer vacation with my aunt in Chittagong. My annual examination got over. I had recess for some days. During this time of the year, the weather is good enough to make a journey. A train journey creates an aura that cannot be experienced with other types of journeys. I have always been an avid supporter of train journeys. My involvement with train journeys began in childhood.

Comfort is one of the biggest advantages of a train journey. Most noteworthy, one can move freely in a train cabin. Furthermore, in trains, there is a possibility of an ample foot room. Moreover, trains offer comfortable sleeping berths. All of this makes the train journey a relaxing experience.

On the day fixed for the journey, I woke up very early in the morning, got ready, and came to Kamlapur Railway Station. The scheduled time for my departure was 8:30 am. There was a huge noise around the station. Many rickshaws, taxis, cars were at the station. The coolies were running busily here and there. There was a long queue before the booking counter for buying tickets.

I also stood in the queue for a ticket. The station offered a nice view. Hundreds of people were moving here and there. Many trains were coming to the station and some others were leaving for their destinations.

After collecting a ticket, I got on the train and occupied my seat beside the window. After a while, the train started moving. A gentle breeze made me feel comfortable.

When the train left Tongi, the proverbial greenery of Bangladesh came into my view. The train was running through green fields. There were also many trees, on both sides of the rail line. The train went on running. I was reciting the famous poem, “Faster than fairies, faster than witches, Houses and ditches some passengers were busy with gossiping. Others were engaged in reading books. But the attraction of nature’s beauty on both sides was so amazing to me that I could not turn my eyes from it.

The train stopped only at a few stations. The scenes at all stations were the same. I saw the passengers boarding the train and getting down. The excitement and the hurry of the passengers, the cries of the hawkers, and the movement of the railway staff offered an interesting sight.

I was so deeply absorbed in looking at all the eye-catching sights that I could not understand when the train reached Chittagong station. The train slowed down and finally stopped at the platform. I got down with a cheerful mind. To sum it up, train journeys are truly one of a kind. The train journey offers uniqueness like no other journey.  Thus, ended the train journey that I enjoyed very much. Most noteworthy, the charm of such a journey is unmatchable. The train journey certainly offers an unforgettable rich experience.
