Deforestation
The demolition of forests is known as deforestation. It means cutting down trees in huge numbers. The causes of deforestation are many. When trees are cut on a big scale to clear a large area of forest cover many trees are lost. But trees are part and parcel of our environment. They maintain the stability of the environment and protect us from a variety of kinds of natural calamities. Wildlife species that live on trees lose their homes. All living animals and birds will not find any food or shelter to live in. Trees are also a resource of food for men and many herbivorous wildlife species of the forests. When forests are cleared out these communities suffer.
Forest products are also a source of livelihood for people who live near forests. This huge population needs more shelter, agricultural land, fuel, furniture, etc. For all these reasons people cut trees. Though trees are cut and burnt for the sake of agriculture and habitat, it has a negative effect on the environment. Moreover, there are some dishonest people who cut down the forest to make money. Deforestation also disturbs the hydrological cycle and climatic patterns. The most common causes of deforestation are cutting down trees and burning them. The country will be inappropriate for living and a variety of natural calamities like floods, drought, storms, etc.
Deforestation leads to serious ecological consequences. The consequence of deforestation is very dangerous. This destruction disturbs our ecological balance. The temperature will rise and it will cause the greenhouse effect. The existence of animals is being threatened. Due to deforestation carbon dioxide is increasing worldwide. It also causes global warming which may bring about a serious cause of sufferings for human beings in the near future. As a consequence, the world is becoming warmer. The sea level is increasing. Many parts of the world may go underwater. On the other hand, many new areas are turning into deserts. So, if we destroy trees at random, one day the country will turn into a great dessert.
Instantaneous meanness should be taken to prevent deforestation. There will be no rain and as a result, our agriculture will face immense trouble. People should be made conscious of the tree plantation through mass media. A tree plantation program should be taken throughout the country. Every man and woman can contribute to this program by planting more and more trees. So, we should plant more trees for a better, happier and healthier life.
