Why Hydrobromic Acid (HBr) is a Polar Compound?

If the difference between the elctronegativity values of the two clement exceed 0.5, then the compound should be treated its polar covalent compound.

Now, in case of Hydrobromic acid (HBr) molecule, the electronegativity values of Bromine (Br) and hydrogen (H) are 2.8 and 2.1.

Hence, the difference = (2.8 — 2.1) = 0.7

So, HBr is a polar molecule
