In favourable season i.e. in spring season when plants get rapid growth, cambium grows more vessels with large cavities and thin walls in order to meet up the demand of water. The wood or xylem tissue formed in the spring, with this type of xylem vessel is known as spring wood or early wood.
Early wood is porous, and made up of thin walled cells, evaluate to latewood, which is influenced by colder warmth and drier conditions. As a result, latewood is made of densely-layered, strong, thick-walled cells.
