On a rainy day, it rains all day long. It may heavily or slowly. A rainy day is a day when it rains ceaselessly all day long during the rainy season. It is called a drizzling day. It seems dull and gloomy. The sky is overcast with thick clouds. The sky is overcast with patches of black clouds and the sun remains hidden behind them. The sky is not seen. The weather is foul. Clouds fly here and there in the sky. The sun is not seen. Sometimes, gusty wind blows with rain. Rivers, canals, and tanks swell up. On this day everybody is to face trouble to go out because it rains continuously and the roads become muddy and slippery. Water stands here and there.
Normal life is disrupted due to heavy rain. None can go out without an umbrella. One does not generally come out without compulsion. Those who have officials and other businesses go out with umbrellas over the head. The common people cannot attend their respective places in time. Village roads become muddy and slippery. If anybody wants to go outside, he has to take an umbrella with him. Sometimes roads go underwater. As a result, vehicles cannot run on the road.
The poor and the day laborers do not like a rainy day. The poor suffer much on this day. They cannot go out to earn their living. Their sufferings know no bounds. They go on starving. So, a rainy day is not pleasant at all. A rainy day is most welcomed to the students, as they have no classes in the school. Water stands on roads and slippery. A rainy day brings the joyous mood to the young boys of the same age and they are seen to bathe in rainwater with merriment. Most of the students do not go to school. A rainy day is most welcome to students as they easily enjoy a holiday.
People pass the boy in listening to music, watching videocassettes, reading novels. A rainy day shakes our minds. Those who have an imaginary bent of mind enjoy the beauty of nature being drenched in rains. It reminds our childhood. The cloudy sky lets loose their emotions. Sometimes we become affectionate to remember our childhood. A rainy day has a good effect on the soil. It helps plants grow, flowers bloom and nature looks fresh and beautiful. There a rainy day is a boon as well as a curse to people. However, a rainy day is welcomed after the baking heat of summer.
