The exhibition of the world’s first ultra-realistic humanoid robot artist working with artificial intelligence (AI) has opened. During the 59th International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia in Venice, the Ai-Da robot’s work is on show in the Giardini. Her presentation, titled Leaping into the Metaverse, will feature work from her new, updated painting arm, as well as a set of four portraits, including a self-portrait and one of Frankenstein author Mary Shelley.
Priya Khanchandani, Head of Curatorial at London’s Design Museum, remarked, “This is a critical time for AI art.” “Ai-work Da’s raises the question of whether robots can be truly creative.” According to Ai-designers, Da’s the show would “[play] on ancient Egyptian ideas of the afterlife and our modern fascination with employing biotechnology to seek immortality in the twenty-first century.”
“I’m Ai-Da, the first ultra-realistic AI robot artist in the world. Ada Lovelace is my middle name. I sketch with AI algorithms and cameras in my eyes. In addition, I am a performer. I work with people to make paintings and sculptures “At 2020, the robot will be explained in a Ted Talk.”What makes you think a robot could be an artist? There are several meanings for art and artists. Using academic scholar Margaret Boden’s criteria for creativity, I am creative because my work is novel, startling, and valuable, sparking debate and attention.”
“The multiplicity of factors that feed the creative process is valued in postmodern thought and philosophy. This thought fits my multiple identity and collaborative art with scientists, designers, and robots other than me “she went on.” In our online and real environments, humans interact, make decisions, and are impacted by technology and AI on a regular basis,” says the artist.
During the 59th International Art Show – La Biennale di Venezia, Ai-Da Robot, the world’s first ultra-realistic humanoid robot artist, will unveil a significant contemporary art exhibition in Venice’s historic Giardini on April 23, 2022. While robot artworks have been shown at the Biennale di Venezia in past years, the year 2022 will be the first time an ultra-realistic humanoid robot artist presents a solo exhibition of artworks at the Biennale di Venezia in the same way that a human artist would.
Ai-Da Robot’s show, leaping into the Metaverse, will be held at the Concilio Europeo Dell’Arte in the central Giardini. The exhibition will investigate the intersection of human experience and AI technology, from Alan Turing to the Metaverse, and will rely on Dante’s conceptions of Purgatory and Hell to consider humanity’s future in a world where AI technology continues to encroach on ordinary human existence.
Flowers on the banks of the Lethe, an artwork made entirely of 3D printed flowers developed from Ai-designs Da’s using AI algorithms, greets visitors as they enter the show. The flower-strewn banks of the fabled river Lethe – the river of forgetfulness – as recounted in Dante’s Divine Comedy are replicated in this installation of fake flowers (Purgatorio XXVIII-XXX). The artwork is a reaction to Alan Turing’s ideas about artificial humanoids, and it challenges us to think about artificiality’s role in our lives and futures.
