Features of Society
A society, or a human society, is a group of people related to each other through persistent relations, or a large social grouping sharing the same geographical or virtual territory, subject to the same political authority and dominant cultural expectations. There are several features of society discussed below:
(a) Human society consists of people
Society mainly consists of people with different minds, occupations, and religions. People here means only those who have a sound mind of making own decisions.
(b) Mutual interaction and mutual awareness
The society is full of interactions and the different social processes and going on in the society. In a society, every people have a mutual interest in others and they are interacting with each other.
(c) Utilize interdependence
People within a society are interdependent. They survive through the power of interdependence.
(d) Cooperation and differences
Since individuals of the society occupy a common territory, common customs, and traditions common values, common history common cultures, self-contained interdependence on each other obviously causes oneness and we feeling and develops a feeling of solidarity among them.
(e) Cultural system: A system is a combination of interrelated parts operating as a whole. It becomes a social system when it relates to people. A social system involves people and/or their organizations in relationships consisting of some observable whole. Normally the system is seeking certain human objectivities.
(f) Distinct from others
Every society has some distinguishing features from other society.
