Microscope
There are many things in front of us that we cannot with our eyes. Besides, there are many things which we see by bare eye’s but appear very small. A microscope is an instrument by which these bodies can clearly be seen by magnification. So, it is an optical instrument used for viewing very small objects, such as mineral samples or animal or plant cells, typically magnified several hundred times. There are many types of microscopes, and they may be grouped in different ways.
The optical instrument by which the details of a nearby exceedingly small object can be seen by magnifying it manifold is called a microscope. Microscope is of two types; viz –
(a) A simple microscope or Magnifying glass; it is one which uses a single lens for magnification, such as a magnifying glass.
(b) Compound Microscope; it uses several lenses to enhance the magnification of an object.
