What is Co-enzyme?

Co-enzyme: Few enzymes that contain non-protein parts (Prosthetic group) with their protein parts are said to be conjugated enzymes. The non-protein pan of the conjugated enzymes is known as the prosthetic group. If the prosthetic group is made of organic substance it is said to be co-enzyme.

Examples of co-enzyme:

⇒ FAD (Flavin adenine dinucleotide)

⇒ NAD (Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide)

⇒ NADP (Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate)
