Job analysis: Job analysis is a process to establish and document the “job relatedness” of employment procedures such as training, selection, compensation, and performance appraisal. It is a process to identify and determine in detail the particular job duties and requirements and the relative importance of these duties for a given job. It is useful in providing an overview of the fundamental requirements of any position.
According to Edwin B. Flippo, “Job analysis is the process of studying and collecting information relating to the operation and responsibilities of a specific job.”
According to Gary Dessler, “Job analysis is the procedure for determining the duties and skill requirements of a job and the kind of person who should be hired for it.”
