A database management system (DBMS) is a software package designed to de me, manipulate, retrieve and manage data in a database. A DBMS generally manipulates the data itself, the data format, field names, record structure and file structure. It provides users and programmers with a systematic way to create, retrieve, update and manage data.

Limitations of Database management: There are some limitations of database management. These are as follows –

Difficult and expensive: Developing a database management system is difficult and expensive.

More hardware capability is required: since, storage requirement for the organization, data overhead control data and the database management system programs are better.

Security concerns: Management has to spend more many and time in ensuring the security of the database management system.
