Musashi Miyamoto from Onimusha: Blade Warriors will be the centerpiece of the episode, which will premiere on November 2.
Takashi Miike, a controversial Japanese filmmaker known for his work on violent films, directed Onimusha.
Audition, Ichi the Killer, Blade of the Immortal, and Gozu are among the previous films directed by Miike. In 2012, he also directed the live-action Ace Attorney film.
Musashi’s appearance is based on Toshiro Mifune, a worldwide recognized Japanese actor who appeared in a number of Akira Kurosawa films, notably Seven Samurai and Rashomon.
“This is the beginning of an intense series full of realistic action in which Musashi’s blade slices through evil as he traverses a land plagued by poverty,” according to Netflix.

Last year, Netflix announced that it was developing an anime adaptation of Onimusha.
The show’s previous description stated: “At the start of the Edo period, Musashi is no longer a young man.” He sets off with the fabled Oni Gauntlet in order to defeat the Genma. The combination of 3D CGI characters and hand-drawn backdrops results in stunning graphics. Onimusha is given fresh vitality with the use of modern animation techniques.”
Capcom created the Onimusha series, with the debut title, Onimusha: Warlords, released in 2001.
