Types of report on the basis of presentation:
On the basis of presentation reports can be classified into the following two categories:
Oral report: When information on any event is presented by means of oral message, it is called oral report. This type of report is generally short in nature and no specific structure is followed in presenting information. The introduction should “hook” your audience. Catch their interest with a question, a dramatic tale or a personal experience that relates to your topic. The body is the main part of your report, and will use most of your time.
Written report: In written report information on any event is presented in written form. Since information is presented here in written form, it is easy to preserve the information and use them in decision making. Written report provides information (especially information of an official nature). Therefore, this type of report is widely used in every organization.
