Aim of Education

The primary aim or purpose of education is to make a man fully useful to himself and to the society. It is to develop ‘The whole man”-his body, mind and soul. Education aims at providing a child with opportunities to bring out all the hidden talents that he possesses. The main purpose of education is to strengthen your mind so that you can more easily learn to deal with specific challenges you will face throughout your life.

A truly educated person should he self-reliant with regards to his personal needs. He should also help others in attaining self-reliance. He should be well mannered, thoughtful, creative, kind, considerate, respectful, sympathetic and co-operative. It is by cultivating their virtues that a human being transcends all limitations in life imposed upon him and becomes the most dignified creation of God. If at the distress and suffering of a fellow human being your love and affection or such other human feelings are not roused, if you do not feel anguished in your bean and do not feel an urge to try to alleviate the sufferings of other human beings, you have not been properly educated. A person who has acquired knowledge and skill for material development alone is not fully educated. True education is not confined to schools, colleges or universities alone, it is something more than the learning of his institutions.
