Concept of Functionalism
These the concept of Functionalism, which holds that social functions should be performed by the institution which can which can do them most efficiently. National defense reclamation and policing activities appear to be a functionally appropriate job of government. On the other hand research and development product planning, product decisions, actual production, and market innovation appear to be an appropriate business function. The primary concepts within Functionalism are collective conscience, value consensus, social order, education, family, crime and deviance and the media. The functionalism has two things that are:
(a) The vital partnership: As our society becomes more complex and as social problems become more severe there is an increasing business organization of the need for joint action by the Business and government.
(b) The public-private corporation: public and private corporations are the result of attempts to identify a specific public purpose and fulfill those by utilizing the resources and managerial capabilities of the private business.
