How to Create and Use a Ranch in Palworld

How to Create and Use a Ranch in Palworld

If you’ve unlocked the Ranch in Palworld, you may be wondering if it’s worth the materials needed to make it. While none of the essential resources are extremely scarce, if you’re still in the early stages, you may find yourself having to farm them yourself to keep up with demand. The answer is simple: yes, it is worthwhile.

You may not believe you have a pressing need for a Ranch right now, but the more production you can automate, the more time you’ll have to go out and collect Pals or travel the world. Depending on which Pals you designate, it will reduce the amount of time you spend farming certain difficult-to-obtain commodities. So, if you’re eager to learn more about farming in Palworld, here’s how to build and operate a Ranch.

How to Craft a Ranch: When you reach level five, you can unlock the Ranch and access the blueprint using Technology Points. Once completed, it can be found in the Pal section of the build menu. You’ll need the following materials to make it:

Resources: 50 wood, 50 stone, 50 fiber.

It’s a huge construction, so make sure you install it in a vast open region, especially since some Pals can be erratic about pathfinding and become stranded when grazing. Once it’s built, you may start assigning Pals—or they may assign themselves if they are suitable for farming jobs.

Palworld Ranch: What it produces: If you want the Ranch to produce anything, you must have Pals who are suitable for farming work in your base, just like with the other constructions you can build. This is represented by the small fence symbol, and the Pal’s Partner Skill will also specify the substance they generate.

Here are some of the most popular Pals who can work on the Ranch:

Lamball: Wool
Cremis: Wool
Chikipi: Eggs
Vixy: Pal Spheres, gold coins, arrows
Capacity: Red berries
Mau: Gold coins
Melpaca: Wool
Flambelle: Flame Organs
Woolypop: Cotton candy
Beegarde: Honey
Mozzarina: Milk

Because various Pals drop different resources, you can have some say over what the Ranch produces depending on which Pals you have active in your base.

Both Lamball and Cremis generate wool, but Cremis produces twice as much, which will be quite essential early on for creating armor and apparel. Later on, when you start breeding Pals, Mozzarina’s milk, Beegarde’s honey, and Chikipi’s eggs will be essential for creating cakes and producing a large number of Pal eggs.

I’ll add more ranch-worthy Pals when I locate them, but the ones listed are those you’ll encounter early in the game.
