What is Steroid?

Steroid: Steroid is a plant lipid which is formed by the combination of numerous isoprene units at a particular form.

Structure: Most steroids are composed of 27-29 carbon compounds. The steroids that contain hydroxyl groups are known as sterols. Except bacteria and cyanobacteria, all other plants contain sterol.
