A Zoo

Zoo is a place where many kinds of wild animals are kept for the public to see. Visit a Zoological park has always been an enchanting and mesmerizing experience for all of us, especially in our childhood days. It is also called the zoological garden. The flourishing greenery and the feeling of oneness that a person feels with the natural environment being amidst the wildlife have no match. People buy tickets and get the entrance to it.

The establishments that house various species of wild animals within enclosures and put them for display in public, in common terms are called zoos. There are kept many wild animals and birds from home and abroad. These not only help in conserving the rare species of mammals, insects, amphibians, reptiles, etc. but also help in educating children about the other living beings of their environment. We can see tiger, deer, monkey, bear, giraffe, zebra, elephants, peacock, etc. in the zoo.

A zoo provides a home to many species of animals and birds all of which live together in harmony. By viewing the wild animal’s children not only observe their activities but also gain knowledge about their eating habits, which is not possible in the concretized urban areas. Many zoos aim to make visitors view the behaviors and interactions of various animals kept in the zoo. Furthermore, the monkeys, chimpanzees and also orangutans seem to appear amusing not only physically because of their long limbs but also because of their behavior. Zoos aim to protect the most endangered species against various forms of dangers such as poaching. At times they can be witnessed playing with each other. There is an officer and other staff to maintain the zoo.

Apart from these mammals, there are also various reptiles that breed in captivity in these zoological gardens. A visit to the zoo will allow you the chance to see many species of animals and birds. These include the crocodile, alligator, tortoise and various varieties of snakes which, if one is lucky can be seen hunting their prey, when they are served live chicks and fishes in their enclosures by attendants. Animals in the zoos are securely enclosed in their environment and cannot harm visitors. Thus, the visit to these zoos is not a futile activity, neither for children nor for adults as the rarest of the rare animals from various parts of the world including Africa and America can be found in any zoological garden, located in any corner of the world. Most zoos have some set rules on how visitors should behave while in the zoo.

Zoos help educate people about the importance of preservation. The visits to such places must be encouraged as it not only educates us about other living beings but also makes us feel one with the environment. People visiting the zoo especially students learn a lot about different types of animals and birds.
