Differences between the Prokaryotic cell and Eukaryotic cell:
- Size and structure: Very minute and simple
- Nucleus: Only DNA is present nuclear membrane nucleolus are absent
- Organelles: the Only ribosome is present in the cytoplasm and all other organelles are absent.
- Photo-synthesis: For photosynthesis, well-organized plastid is absent.
- Cell division: Cell division occurs by fission or binary fission method. Spindle apparatus is not formed.
- Example: Bacteria, cells of blue-green algae
- Size and structure: Comparatively large and complex
- Nucleus: Comparatively distinct, well developed and nuclear membrane and nucleolus are present
- Organelles: All living organelles are present.
- Photosynthesis: Photosynthesis occurs with the help of complex organelle, called plastid.
- Cell division: Body cell undergoes mitotic division and spindle apparatus is formed
- Example: All higher types of plants and animals.
