Leadership is always said to be associated with the power to dominate others (in a group). Some people are known to be born leaders. A good leader must be competent enough so that he/ she may influence the minds of others. It is the quality of taking the lead and load of a nation’s peace and prosperity. The quality runs in their family; it is in their genes.

Leaders give proper direction without which a nation may get perturbed at the time of any crisis what so ever. People need someone who can stand up and show them how to do things in the right manner to yield maximum output. Others are inspired by such people and work upon embedding this quality. A leader must motivate his/ her team members to support the team members to deliver good ideas & improvements. While leadership is a powerful quality, leaders possess various other qualities in addition to it that makes for their popularity. Many organizations look around for good leaders to successfully run their businesses.

Qualities of a Good Leader – To be a leader, one has to have many qualities. Among them, sacrificing tendency is the most important. The other qualities are honesty, truthfulness, bravery, personality, etc.

Honesty: Honesty is one of the main qualities of a leader. A leader leads by example. A good leader should apologize for his wrongs and should be generous to forgive others’ faults. A deceitful person may attract people by way of manipulation; however, he will soon lose his credibility.

Communication: A leader does not think of himself as superior to you and thus does not believe in maintaining a distance.

Self-Confidence: The level of self-confidence leaders possess is impeccable. They are sure about themselves and know exactly how to put their point across to inspire their audience.

Transparency: They maintain transparency while dealing in both personal and professional relationships. This is one of their traits for which they are highly trusted and respected.

Patience: Possessing patience is one of the main keys to becoming a good leader. Only if a person is a patient can he understand the mistakes of others and help them evolve.

Leadership is an influential process. The ultimate goal of leadership is to bring out the best from the team members. Some leaders may be able to play their role effectively whereby they succeed in getting the willing cooperation and commitment of their followers, beyond the normal call of duty. A good leader has the ability to inspire others and instill leadership qualities in his subordinates to generate future leaders.
