The man who delivers letters, parcels and money orders from door to door is a postman. He is a petty government servant. He is a familiar figure both in the towns and in the village. He works in the post office. He delivers letters, money orders, parcels, greeting cards, etc. from door to door and street to street. A postman is very punctual and dutiful. He works in a post office. His services are very important. He brings us news from our near and dear ones living in distant places. He is a great friend of the people.

The postman is a familiar figure to us for his special dress. The works of a postman begin in the morning. He wears a different dress and it is a khaki uniform. He has a turban on his head. The postman carries across his shoulders a bag containing letters, parcels and money orders and other postal articles. Letters and other valuable things are kept in it. He delivers letters received in his post office from other post-offices and places. He is very useful to the people and his work is very important and responsible. He has to visit a long distance to finish his duties in time. He performs his duties honestly and sincerely. He has to lead a busy, punctual and dutiful life. He goes from one house to another to deliver letters money orders and other postal articles to the proper addresses. After having finished this job in the post office, he goes out on his beat to deliver them to their addressees. A postman can make us both happy and unhappy. When he brings letters of good news, we become happy. He renders and great service to society.

A postman is a really good man and a good friend to us. Good postman has many qualities. He is such a great friend to us that everybody we expect his nock on the door. He is an embodiment of quiet service. He behaves amiably with all. He is regular, honest and conscious of his duties. The duties of a postman are difficult. Sun or rain, freezing cold or scorching heat, he is on his duty. The economic condition of a postman is very miserable. Though a postman is a low-great employee of the postal department, he performs a responsible job. Though he works very hard he gets a very small salary. His work conditions and pay should be raised. With it, he cannot maintain his family decently. He has very few holidays and his hours of work are long and difficult. So he leads a miserable life. He should be provided with government accommodation. No doubt he serves the society as well as the country greatly in the field of postal communication. He should also be insured as he has to face dangerous situations. So he should be well-paid so that he may reform his duty with full attention. We should feel for him, show honors to him and do something for his well-being.
